Privacy Policy

The Framework ("we," "us," "our") is a trading journal application operated by Michael Mitchell. Our website is theframeworktrading.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google's OAuth service. We never receive or store your Google password.

Profile Information: You may optionally provide your full name, phone number, age range, trading experience, income range, and trading style. This information is entirely voluntary.

Trading Data: We store the trade data you enter manually or import via CSV files from your broker. This includes symbols, dates, prices, P&L, commissions, and behavioral tags (emotional state, plan adherence, setup type). We do not have access to your brokerage account credentials.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage information such as when you log in, which features you use, and session dates. This helps us improve the product.

Payment Information: If you subscribe to Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number — Stripe handles all payment data securely. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the trading journal service

• Calculate your P&L, execution scores, and performance metrics

• Generate AI coaching feedback based on your trading data (Pro feature)

• Process subscription payments via Stripe

• Send you product updates if you opt in to email communications

• Improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns

We will never use your data to provide trading advice, recommendations, or predictions.

Our AI Post-Trade Coach and Playbook Builder analyze your trading data to provide behavioral feedback. Your trading data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. The AI is explicitly instructed to never provide trading advice, predictions, or buy/sell recommendations — it only analyzes your behavior, discipline, and process.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:

• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

• Stripe: For payment processing (Pro subscribers only).

• Anthropic: Your trading data is sent to Claude AI for coaching features (Pro subscribers only). Anthropic does not retain or train on this data.

• Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel processes web requests but does not access your stored data.

We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We use Row-Level Security (RLS) on every database table to ensure users can only access their own data. API routes require authentication and are rate-limited to prevent abuse. Sensitive keys and tokens are stored as server-side environment variables and never exposed to the browser.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at mikethecompass@gmail.com. Upon request, we will permanently delete your account, profile, trades, sessions, and all related data within 30 days.

We use essential cookies only — specifically, Supabase authentication cookies that keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate information in your profile

• Delete your account and all associated data

• Export your trading data

• Opt out of marketing communications at any time

The Framework is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are under 18, please do not use the service or provide any personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email (if opted in) or by posting a notice on the app. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
